He had his second swimming class on Saturday, and seemed a little more comfortable in the water. There were three other babies in the class, one of them is Grant, who is Janice's friend's baby boy, and a little girl and another little boy named Benjamin! He has started kicking when Daddy holds him in the water. Maybe he'll be a good little swimmer one day!
This weekend we had quite a scare - we woke up on Sunday and Benjamin had some spit up that didn't look quite normal. We called the pedatrician's after hours line and they asked us a few questions and told us to go ahead and go to the emergency room so a doctor could look at Benjamin. We decided to go straight to Children's Medical Center near downtown, since we knew they were the best and specialized in little kiddos...Surprisingly we didn't have to wait very long at all, and they brough Benjamin in to check him out. (He weighs 16 lbs. 8 ounces now!) He was smiling and giggling at all the nurses and was in the best mood when the nurse practitioner was examining him and listening to his tummy. She didn't find anything wrong with him, no fever, and otherwise acting normal and happy. She asked us to feed him and we stayed for another 1/2 hour to make sure he kept everything down, and then we were sent home. He was smiling and flirting with the nurse who was giving us our discharge instructions, so we felt pretty good heading home knowing he was his normal happy self! We watched him the rest of the day just to be safe and he seems to be doing ok now. Hopefully that is our last visit to the hospital for a long time! (I'm sure if he's anything like his daddy, we'll be back someday for some broken bones...I am not looking forward to that day at ALL! :()
Waiting for the nurse to come and check me
What a tiring morning...I'm ready to go home...
