This post is a little bit out of order, since Benjamin started school on September 4 (the day before little sister Caitlin arrived), but I wanted to make sure and fill everyone on on how Benjamin is doing with his new school. He goes twice a week on Tuesday/Thursday from 9-2. His teachers for the year are Ms. Mary and Mrs. Myranda. The first day was a little rough, he started crying when Ms. Mary took him from Daddy, and they said he cried for a little while that morning but then eventually started playing and had a good day. It was definitely hard on Daddy and Mommy having to leave him there crying. Mommy had a very rough morning, but someone from the school called us around 11 to let us know that he was doing well and he had a fun time dancing to the "ABC" song. That was a welcome phone call to help ease some of the worries about the first day.
Here are his backpack and lunchbox! He had a small matching backpack that is the perfect size for him, unfortunately, it doesn't fit all the diapers, extra clothes that he is supposed to bring every day! Ever since we took him to the aquarium, he has loved sharks, so that is what we got for his lunchbox!
All dressed and ready for my first day at school!
Waiting to go in to my classroom on the first day.
(Immediately after this picture was taken, he had a major meltdown and started crying)
He still gets a little sad sometimes when getting dropped off. Ms. Mary has done a good job trying to distract him with cars or trucks and sometimes he starts playing right away and doesn't get sad. We were very excited to get the report card on the 3rd day at school that did not say "teary" and finally said "happy"!!!
What a treat, little sister Caitlin came to pick Benjamin up from school!
Every day seems to be getting easier. Everyone seems to tell us, that one day soon they won't be sad anymore and they will be running into the classroom away from you to go play. I think we are both sad and excited for that day to come.
